Sharon Squazzo is a molecular biologist with a lifelong passion for microorganisms and the natural world. This fascination led her to pursue a B.S. in Microbiology and a research career studying gene transcription and epigenomics. Currently based in Bellingham, WA, Sharon enjoys utilizing her DNA sequencing and analysis expertise in documenting fungal biodiversity and participating in community science projects. As the membership coordinator and DNA barcoding expert for the Northwest Mushroomers Association, she plays an important role in the organization's FunDiS project at the Stimpson Family Nature Preserve. Sharon possesses a deep love for nature, nurtured by her experiences living in the Adirondack, Berkshire, Santa Cruz, and North Cascade forests.
