Rudy is a mycology enthusiast with a research background in biostatistics and evolutionary biology. Besides collecting fungi he enjoys studying their microscopic features, especially among understudied taxa in the Ascomycota. He is based in Southern California and is the current Resident Mycologist of the Los Angeles Mycological Society.
