Cerise Mayo is the Executive Director of FUNDIS, with two decades of experience in food systems, climate resiliency, and sustainable agriculture. She founded Nutshell Projects, a consultancy supporting businesses and organizations committed to sustainable food, agriculture, education, and social justice.

Cerise began her advocacy in 2002 at Slow Food USA, leading national education campaigns promoting small-scale food production. She also organized U.S. delegations for Terra Madre, a global gathering of food communities. From 2007 to 2010, she served as Program Director at New Amsterdam Market, helping to revive public markets as civic institutions and fostering connections within New York’s sustainable food network.

Beyond food and agriculture, Cerise has worked extensively in nonprofit program development in New York and San Francisco, focusing on art, environmental education, and community leadership. Her career reflects a deep commitment to building sustainable regional food economies while balancing economic, environmental, and social responsibility.
