Start a FunDiS Project

You can help document fungal diversity by registering a project and posting observations online, using our protocols. You can contribute at whatever level suits you best, and advance at your own pace if you want to do more.

  • FunDiS sequencing projects are individual or group projects, at the local, state or regional level, throughout North America.
  • Some projects focus on fungi in a defined area, others on specific kinds of fungi. Check out where other projects are located (Project Map) and a list of currently registered FunDiS sequencing projects (Registered Project List).
Please note that DNA sequencing services will no longer be available through FunDis after April 30, 2021. Several commercial labs are available; click here.

We hope to find find funding again for general, crowdsourced sequencing in the future, employing cheaper new-generation, high-throughput sequencing technologies.
