INSTRUCTIONS TO DEEP FUNGA AUTHORS

 CONCEPT

  • Contact the blog editor at blog@fundis.org if you have an idea for an article you would like to submit -- or read.

CONTENT

  • We especially welcome stories of the experiences of Project participants, updates or results of projects, as well as articles on any aspect of mycology or citizen science that be of value to our community.

  • Deep Funga blogs will generally be longer than articles which fit the bimonthly eNewsletter (100-250 words) and include an opportunity for interaction with other members of the FunDis community (via Comments below the post, and on our Facebook Discussion Group).

BLOG TEXT

  • Provide article text and title in a Word document.
    • Length 500 to 2,500 words
    • Include images to indicate where they should go
      • OR indicate with words and captions: "Image 1 goes here...; Photo credit: XXX, Caption:YYY
  • Provide an author bio of 30 to 50 words.
    • You may include a personal website or social account if you like.

IMAGES

  • Featured image (required) horizontal 4x3 ratio
  • Author image (required) vertical 3x4 ratio (will be a thumbnail)
  • In-text images or graphics (optional, but highly desirable): horizontal or vertical format is OK
    • Indicate where they go in the article, per instruction above.
    • Send caption text and photo credits in a separate text document.
  • It's best to send all images as separate files even if you included them for placement in your text document, as images will have to be uploaded separately from the text. Maximum size 10MB. Most photos shot with a cell phone are adequate; screen captures may be too low resolution.

COMMENTS

  • At the bottom of your blog post click Subscribe
    • You should get an email when someone comments.
